Troubleshooting
This guide explains how to resolve problems you may encounter when using the Mudfish Game Router.
Router LED
With Mudfish firmware, the LED is red by default. A red LED does not mean the router is faulty.
To change when the LED turns on, turns off, or blinks, open System -> LED Configuration.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is disabled by default for security. Its initial configuration uses an open network, so set a password when you enable it.
Open Network -> Wireless and enable Generic 802.11 bgn Wireless Controller. The default SSID is usually OpenWRT.
Internet connection
The following steps address problems connecting to the Internet through the router's WAN port.
Devices cannot access the Internet through the WAN port
If computers, smartphones, or game consoles connected through the LAN ports or Wi-Fi cannot access the Internet, try the following:
- Turn on the Mudfish Game Router and open the LuCI administration UI, usually at http://192.168.1.1.
- Open Services -> Mudfish.
- Under Basic Configuration -> Basic, click Stop if Mudfish is running.
- Click Save & Apply at the bottom right.
- Wait a few seconds, then turn the router off completely and turn it back on.
The router now works as a regular Internet router. Check whether the WAN connection still fails.
If the problem persists, possible causes include:
- A problem with the Internet connection plugged into the WAN port, or failure to obtain an IP address from the upstream router.
- A hardware fault in the Mudfish Game Router. A return or repair may be needed.
- A firmware problem that prevents the internal configuration from being applied correctly.
If stopping Mudfish restores Internet access, try the following:
- If Full VPN mode is enabled, your ISP may be blocking the ports used by Mudfish. Follow the Connection Protocol guide to try different protocols and determine which ports are open.
- Turn off Full VPN mode and configure only the items you need.
