Troubleshooting network firewalls
This guide concerns network firewalls operated by companies, institutions or network providers, rather than a personal firewall installed on your computer.
A firewall can interrupt either the connection to Mudfish's master server or the connection to relay nodes. Both must work for Mudfish to function correctly. Check the following stages in order.
1. Connection to the master server
Launcher opens a browser, but the login page never loads and the browser says it cannot display the page.
Start with Master Server troubleshooting.
2. Authentication with the master server
Launcher reaches the login page, but you are automatically logged out after signing in.
The English Master Server guide also covers authentication workarounds, including Launcher options and the firewall-bypass control.
3. Connection to relay nodes
Resolve authentication problems first. Relay-node tests cannot be useful until the master-server authentication works.
Typical symptoms are:
- Login and configuration succeed, but actual network traffic cannot pass.
- The Core log reports MUDEC_00235: “Too many heartbeat errors. Please check your firewalls.”
