Reading access logs

Access logs help explain unexpected credit usage by showing the connections made through Mudfish. When logging is enabled, records are retained for about one week. Logging is optional and is off by default; see Account settings.

Open the access log

  1. Run Mudfish Launcher and sign in.

  2. Open “Status → Access Log”. This view lists only entries with at least 1 MiB of incoming or outgoing traffic.

Access Log in the Status menu

For records below 1 MiB, sign in to Account Management and open the access-log page under the account menu.

Interpret an entry

This historical example records traffic on February 8, 2015 along the route:

Your computer ↔ JP Asia (Tokyo - GMO) ↔ 106.187.76.107.

Historical access-log example with four numbered traffic totals

The screenshot is in Korean. The columns are Date (날짜), Source (출발지), Destination (목적지), Domestic In/Out (국내 In/Out), and International In/Out (국제 In/Out). “내 컴퓨터” means “My computer”. Directions are measured at the Mudfish node.

The four annotations mean:

  1. No domestic traffic passed between your computer and the Tokyo node. That part of the route used an international connection.
  2. Traffic between the Tokyo node and 106.187.76.107 was domestic: the node received 12.5 MB from that address and sent 0.6 MB to it.
  3. There was no international traffic between the Tokyo node and that address.
  4. International traffic between your computer and the node was 0.7 MB in and 13.5 MB out: the node received 0.7 MB from your computer and sent 13.5 MB to it.
