Internet Cafes
Can I use Mudfish at an internet cafe?
It depends on the cafe. Computer management software often blocks features that Mudfish needs, so it works at some cafes but not at many others. Common problems include:
-
Installing the TAP-Win32 adapter v9 network device
The system may prevent this device from being installed. Mudfish supports both TAP-Win32 adapter v9 and the Wintun driver. Check whether either works.
Follow the basic functionality test. Under Setup → Program → Launcher, try the TAP driver (TAP-Win32 adapter v9), then the TUN driver (Wintun). If neither works, Mudfish cannot be used in that environment.
-
The network connection remains in the "Identifying" state
Try the
-Ioption described under MUDEC_00045. This may resolve the problem.
Mudfish does not install correctly
First, check whether the TAP-Win32 adapter v9 network device is installed. Internet cafe management software often blocks operations that require administrator privileges. If this prevents the network device from being installed, Mudfish cannot work. Ask the cafe operator whether they can install the device for you.
Mudfish Launcher does not open
The cafe's management software or antivirus software may be blocking it. If antivirus software is running, try temporarily disabling it and launching Mudfish again.
Are there any precautions when using Mudfish at an internet cafe?
Malware such as keyloggers is a concern on shared computers. Apart from this, Mudfish should work normally if its network driver installs successfully and the dashboard opens correctly.
